 so one of the dealers is called Foust which is interesting because hes to all intents and purposes considered to be doing some thing evil , well according to the era at the time , the level of understanding that we have of addicts . And yet comes across as a really nice guy 
and ahead of his time on the morality on drugs he comforts and counsels other addicts 

and abuses those who oppose them 

Ellie comes down one Christmas morning aged about 30 to find a cake with a stick in it and a paper flag saying Harry Cyst Mast 
 
she calls him a scummy little junkie which isnt very helpful either  .
she also has the bright idea of telling his parents about the drugs who throw a fit and then Billy comes up to her room and threatens to have her ' slammed up in a mental hospital '  
 
Ellie has a fantasy about Foust when he is in the house share and he bangs on the wall 
and there were skin heads in there and Bill screaming as he tried to resist heroin and failed , a heart breaking wail . Really hard nuts starting to come around there , not sure how Ellie survived in that attic room 

either she was there or at Micks and not safe anywhere . With addicts intervening when she fought with Mick , n nobody to save her from the addicts who were determined to gaslight her and make her doubt her sanity, so alone in the attic with no support
